Hi I’m a 25 year old male from India a muslim and I love a girl who is in Malaysia and she is a Hindu. we want to get married and she wants me to convert to a Hindu. I know that I can’t marry her if I am a muslim and she a Hindu in Malaysia. Is it possible for me to convert to a Hindu in India and then getting married to her in Malaysia?? Will there be any problem in Malaysia if Im already converted to Hindu in India?? I know it sounds crazy but I know this girl since I was a kid when I used to live in Malaysia and I love her very much and I want to live with her. please help us out and it will be great if u could leave us a suggestion as well.. -Rahil

Hello ,
After a long discussion with my GF she have finally agreed that she will convert to Islam ..now the thing is we dont really know what has to be done next like should we register there or here .i want to live in malaysia with her ..we are planning to get married on 2018.please Advice -Rahil

Sharis Laws that all non-Muslims should know, Malaysia and UK laws, A Hindu cannot marry a Malaysian Muslim, Singapore marriage laws, Indian marriage laws, DON’T Fake-convert (focus on Malaysia laws), Koran on Hindus?, Islamic Nikaah without conversion is not possible, InterfaithShaadi does not recommend this: I am in Singapore and married to a Muslim without conversion,

Can her parents help you guys? Are you expecting her to be 0% Hindu and 100% Muslim or you will let her be what ever she is?

I would also disagree a little with the statement “India offers full religious liberty and freedom” because while on paper India is a very tolerant country, and I used to think so until my own experiences made me change my mind a little, in recent years (and even recent months) my friends (all living in India right now) have seen the Hindu right wing make advances on spreading their divisive ideology and sadly, some of my Muslim Indian friends who wanted to move back to their home country a few years ago now do not want to live in India because of what they see as increasing intolerance towards minorities. Now we all know that this happens in Pakistan, in many other countries too. But it was shocking for me to hear from a Indian Muslim friend that she and her husband now want to settle down in Europe (a very recent decision) after seeing how their Hindu neighbors are talking about Muslims in recent years compared to the tolerant atmosphere many years ago. So while Malaysia may be biased too, some parts of India aren’t exactly a heaven either. Just be aware of this fact before making your decision.

Dear Rahil, I would 100% agree with Admin’s advice in your case, but would add that you should live in a big city if you decide to move to India because Indian small towns are very very backward-minded and traditional about this stuff so it may become a problem for multicultural/inter-religious couples like you and your girl.

Islam does require conversion, and a nikkah, but if you don’t feel the need for this (aka aren’t too religious) you can easily marry & live in India practicing your own religions under Special Marriage Act. But make sure she is honest with you and you are honest with her – men do change a little after marriage, as I am sure do some women. It’s important to have an honest and open conversation about conversion, expectations after conversion, and children if you want to be happy after marriage.

Abe……ek lrki k liye tu hmare allah aur hmare pyare nabi ko chhor dega…..???
Duniya me to khusi khusi reh loge….marne k baad kya hoga….
Wo pyaar krti h tujhse…..to tera religion q change krwana chahti h….ye pyar nhi smjhauta hua……
Teri life h tujhe jo krna h kr….lekin kuch krne se phle….ek baar Qur’an aur hadees prh le hindi me……auliya k baare me jaan…..phle ye jaanne ki koshish kr k pyaar me zyada taakt h ya allah me……phir tujhe jo thk lge wo krna……

    Dear Raahil
Don’t leave Islam rather tell her to accept Islam
Tell her to study some books about Islam from http://www.dawateislami.net
Also view this video and tell her that what happened in this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JbnfbrzjP-A

No, you never ask hindu girls/boys about hinduism, do you? 🙂

  • February 22, 2016 9:52 pm

    Rahil,

Simple answer is … best option is to live in India and settle in India. India offers full religious liberty and freedom. The Malay government is pro-Islamic and they have designed all laws favoring Muslims. You may get away for a few years but if someone reports to the authority, you could get in trouble in Malaysia.

Answer us what these conversions means to you and to your girlfriend? She want you to be a Hindu, … what does that mean? Are you going to change your name (to Arjun or something like) and start visiting Hindu temple in search of God? What are you going to teach to your children for who is God? Did you talk to your Muslim parents about your plan? We hope to hear from you what this conversion means to you (or her)?

        Zilch,

Interesting!! Do you think minorities in India are in worst shape than minorities in neighboring Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan?
