THERE IS PLURALISM IN ISLAMIC THINKING…………SEE PROOF BELOW

Iftekhar Hai says: June 12, 2014 at 10:26 pm

Iftekhar Hai MLKFor centuries every religious community had lived in isolation. Religious interpretation kept people apart from each other. Humanity faced religiously motivated wars in the past. However in the 21st century humanity is facing problems of poverty, famine, economical and ecological nature. Cooperation on global scale is essential for our survival. Each religion must preach Freedom of Religion and Pluralism in order to create cooperation across inter-religious and ethnic diversity. Muslims are challenged to embrace pluralism. UMA Interfaith Alliance is promoting Pluralism, Democracy, Freedom of Religion and Secular governance across the Muslim world. Such reforms are essential for global peace and harmony.

Time has come for all religions to bury violent verses/ayats in the Holy Scriptures in historical context and to bring forward verses/ayats of pluralistic and democratic nature. Below I have quoted from the Quran verses that relate to Pluralism and Democracy.

Surah 5:48 to prove Islam has pluralism (also read):

Iftekhar HaiTo you WE have given the scriptures, just as WE have given the scriptures to people before you (Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, etc). We have protected your scriptures (Quran) in its entirety. So judge among people from what knowledge has come to you (from Quran) and do not be carried over by your vain desires (that Muslims are the only righteous and chosen people to lead). To each among you (referring to diverse groups – not excluding anybody) We have prescribed the Law (teachings of the indigenous, native people and Buddhist scholars, Gitas, Vedas, Torah, Gospels and The Quran) and an Open Way (given a conscience with reference to the spiritualists people). If God had willed, all humanity would have been of one single community (this means diversity is part of God’s creation). God’s plan is to test you in what each one has received (in form of Holy Scriptures or Conscience). So strive, as in a race in all virtues. The goal of all the people is to God. God (alone) will tell you the truth in matters of which you dispute.” 5:48

Another verse which further imposes Pluralism is mentioned below:

2) More on Pluralism:“To every people was sent an Apostle to teach them in their own language in their own country – making things clear” 10:47, 14:4 & 16:36.

3) Democracy: Conduct your affairs through mutual consultation 42:38

4) Secularism: If Muslims follow the above in all sincerity…….Secular Governance will emerge in all Muslim countries.

Mac…………You assume a lot of things without facts. Here are the facts about me.
1) I am 72 years of age, married with two children 41 and 38 years.
2)I have 3 grand-daughters 8, 17 & 18 years
3)Yes, I have bahu (daughter in law) who is Catholic. I WILL NEVER ASK HER TO CHANGE FAITH. GOD DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE THAT HE GAVE HER BIRTH IN CATHOLIC HOUSE HOLD……SALVATION OR NIRVANA IS THERE IN ALL FAITHS…..INCLUDING HINDUISM.

HINDUS ARE ALSO PEOPLE OF THE BOOK…..STUDY VEDAS, GEETAS, ETC.

REMEMBER THE QURAN SAYS NOT TO HATE ANYONE:

“Oh you who believe! Be consistent in your devotion to God, bearing witness to the truth in all equity, and never let hatred of others lead you to deviate from justice. Be just for this is closest to righteousness, and remain conscious of God, because God is well Aware of all you do.” 5:8.

Stand out firmly for Justice “Oh you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even against yourself, against your parents and against your children, against people who are rich or poor, because God is the best of all Protectors. Do not follow your inclinations or your desires, lest you should deviate from justice. Verily God is well acquainted with all that you do.” 4:135 (Ideal witnesses must have these qualities)

Thank you Seema Maheshwari for the wonderful story. As for me, I come from Hindu untouchable background. Our family converted to Islam some 100 years ago. I KNOW THIS IS NOT SPIRITUALLY CORRECT HINDUISM.

Also, I have lived in Dadar/Parel and Nagpada in Greater Mumbia. I faced a lot of humiliation from Shiv Sena people in the years 1960 to 1964 when I went to Podar College in Matunga……Again this is not Spiritual Hinduism……………..BUT POLITICAL OR IMPERIAL HINDUISM.

I MIGRATED TO KARACHI, WHERE I LIVED FOR 4 YEARS. I thought being Muslim I would not face discrimination…..I WAS WRONG…….HERE I WAS CONSIDERED A MAHAJIR………I SAW POLITICAL ISLAM OR IMPERIAL ISLAM PRACTISED WITH RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM.

I migrated to USA in the year 1967. THIS CHRISTIAN COUNTRY I FOUND BETTER THAN ANY MUSLIM COUNTRY. BUT THIS IS NOT TO SAY THERE IS EVERYTHING FINE HERE. HERE WE HAVE POLITICAL CHRISTIANITY OR IMPERIALISTIC CHRISTIANITY.

THE WHOLE WORLD NEED REFORMS AND EVERY RELIGION NEED TO BE REVISTED AND REFORMED. WE ARE NOW LIVING ON ONE PIECE OF REAL ESTATE…THE EARTH. WE HAVE TO MAKE CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES AND GIVE RE-BIRTH TO HUMAN RIGHTS………….. -Iftekhar.

My next comment will be on verses he, Hai, quoted from Koran.

But let me clearly say this.

The concept of One God and ‘THAT ONE GOD’ SENDING HIS PROPHET is not the part of beliefs of religions like Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism.

This line is exclusive to those three monotheism s i.e. Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

The philosophy of these Dharmic religions has nothing to do with that thuggish line of ‘one god and he sending his prophets’.

Those who wants to understand brutality behind such line of theology can read Bible and Koran to know themselves how violent that God was and how violent each of his Prophets were. The kind of violent things these Prophets do, according to these holy books themselves, are beyond human imagination.

What’s worst is the effect of these books on the real world. Roughly together, Christianity and Islam were responsible for half a billion deaths.

That’s the human cost of one God and his Prophets.

Coming to Hinduism, Krishna was not a Prophet.

    Nor Rama was a Prophet.

    Nor were Buddha and Jain.

Ofcourse, Christianity too says Jesus was not a Prophet but Son of God.

But its a historical fact that Christianity was responsible for massive human suffering and engaged in wars of genocide. But it was not only able to reform and change itself, as Protestantism has shown, as its own teachings produced a different thinking, and was able to become the source of modern day enlightenment. The life and teachings of Jesus made it possible for Christianity to adopt and change.

But Islam ? We already have seen it.

When Hai refers to these central figures of other religions as prophets sent by that one God, Allah, despite the fact that that approach is erroneous, he was more or less no different from those terrorists.

He was more or less literally establishing Koranic thought as the only truth.

He supports pluralism and multiculturalism, but only along the lines of Islamic philosophy. Any other line has no place in his thinking.

One need not be an Einstein to see the duplicity behind his writings and his so called calls for pluralism.

He is not the first Muslim to misguide non-Muslims like this. Offering this line of Islamic tolerance, deliberately misguiding Non-Muslims about teachings of Islam, has been the cornerstone of ‘SO CALLED INTERFAITH DIALOG’ that Non-Muslims ignorantly participate in.

I hope and pray that admin of this website see and understand this clearly.

Admin your this comment “A Muslim does not have a right to complain about Hindu’s idol-worshipping till they stop idolizing Muhammad and stop praying (in the direction of) Saudi Arabia to the black cube.” AGAIN proved that you are a FOOL and know nothing about islam, we don`t idolize mohammad(pbuh), he was god`s last messenger to teach us how to be close to god just like abraham, jesus, moses….(peace be upon all of them) was, they were teachers not gods, we don`t idolize them, some christians are idolizing jesus, thats it, and kabba is the direction for unity as you have to perform namaz in one out of four directions available and as namaz is to be performed in mosque so for unity we choose one universal direction, if in mashjid one performs namaz in the dirction of west , one is east , one is south and sone in north…………ha ha ha its sounds horrible then imagine how would be situation inside mosque……first learn the meaning of cult and what is mean by idolizing almighty

a pluralist means who associate creator with creations, cretor saod that he is not like human, creator has no definite shape and size, sp he wanred us not to make image of him, and hindus make image , they say ganseha is god, shiv is god he is god , she is god and soo sooo sooo thats why a general hindu is a musj\hrik, yes there are some exceptions to it, there are many really educated hindus who don`t worship idol and they live by hadith, i have many such hindu frnds in fb, they also critise common hindu, they say they would hav fully converted to islam but bcoz of family and reservation purpose they pretend to b a hindu

      mac,
Hindus are not worshipping idols, nor Muslims are worshipping the kaaba-idol, nor Christians are worshipping the wood pieces, nor Jews are worshipping the Wall. These are objects to see the God.

Hinduism believes God is not up there and will come some day, but God is omnipresent. God is there in mac, in Mr. Hai, in the cow, in the tree and all over. You just have to open your eyes to see beauty in Mr. Hai, admin and mac. Mac, we love you, except wish you reduce hates and intolerance for others. Think this hard, hopefully in 10 years you will be enlightened, keep in touch.

Actually Hinduism have liberty to see the God in many ways, including through a marble statue, through meditation, by Gurus who educate you or even by public charity. All paths are acceptable. Even one who never pray to a marble status is a good Hindu. This is a religion of liberty and freedom, not a religion of restriction and threats.

A Muslim does not have a right to complain about Hindu’s idol-worshipping till they stop idolizing Muhammad and stop praying (in the direction of) Saudi Arabia to the black cube.

ha ha ha admin you are again giving me foolish advice, allah_bhagwan said that he has no definite shape and size like human beings or any material things(air, water, clay) , so allah said not to imagine allah as a above mentioned materials, allah is not at all comparable with any things on earth(best ans you can get frm bible) or below sea…. so making god in the form of idol in nothing but insulting allah as you havn`t seen allah

        • June 16, 2014 10:09 pm

No one has seen Allah so any one could make up that I am the last apostle, the Judgment Day theory without any logic and my idol (kaaba) is real while others are not.
