Hi every one im glad to find this conversation about interfaith marriage. Iam married catholic woman with my previous catholic husband we have separated but not legally, now i have a malaysian boyfriend for a year and we are planning to get married. My question is if ever i had converted to islam as iam welling to, before our marriage, is my previous catholic marriage will be invalid, since i have change my names from converting into islam. Does it mean i dont need to do the legal separation between my X husband. Or was it compulsary for me to do the legal separation on my previous marriage before i can get married again to a muslim man. -Neresa

Sharis Laws that all non-Muslims should know, Malaysia Marriage laws, A Hindu cannot marry a Malaysian Muslim, Singapore marriage laws, Indian marriage laws, DON’T Fake-convert (focus on Malaysia laws), Koran on Hindus?, Islamic Nikaah without conversion is not possible, Malaysia Muslim is not allowed Hindu wedding, InterfaithShaadi does not recommend this: I am in Singapore and married to a Muslim without conversion, Malaysia’s Sharia law costs non-Muslims their kids, Registration of marriage for non-Muslims in Malaysia (note: A confirmation letter from the respective government that the applicant is not a Muslim),

    Hi Neresa,

Love word meaning has taken different direction now a days. When other person is loving you, he should accept you as you are. He should not insists on conversion or change your habits as he loves you as you are currently. If he is not happy the way you are, then there is no question of love. The same rule applies to you also. Hence ask your Islam friend, whether he allows to continue your today life as it is after marriage. If he is really loves only you, he should not stress on any conversion or change you. Otherwise, it is just trick which he is playing and he can put many constraints even after your marriage also. Think twice/thrice before make wise decision.
    All the best.

    Dear Neresa,

In almost all countries, the first thing first, you MUST have a formal divorce before you marry to someone else. Tell us which country are you from? Is that you wish to convert to Islam? Even you never met this guy, still would you convert to Islam?

A coin has two sides, a head and a tail. This guy is showing you only one side of the coin. If you were smart, you will also reach out to other web sites that are exposing the other side of that coin. We are not saying one faith is better than the other, but wish you to make decision after very careful study on the faith of your interest.

We assume you are Christian Catholic from Philippines. Did you loved Jesus? Do you still love Jesus? Ask to your boy friend and tell us who was the father of Jesus? We will be waiting to hear from you.
