Jacobite(orthodox) Christian in love with a Hindu

Angel says: March 27, 2017 at 12:24 pm

Hi..
I am a Christian girl, jacobite(orthodox) I’m in love with a Hindu boy. We both don’t want to convert, he agreed our kids can grow up as Christians. I was wondering if it’s possible to get married in the church with a priest without him converting? Thinking of marrying at the temple and church. I would love some advice and opinions. Thank you. -Angel

My boyfriend is a Hindu and I’m a Jacobite Christian. We are planning to get married under the Special Marriage Act 1954. I would like to have a Christian wedding ceremony without him having to convert. I know my church will not accept it, so I would like to know what other possibilities do I have.
I have heard it is possible in the Catholic way. Is it true?

No. Catholic will not marry you without converting him or asking to sign pre-nup. Best is to first marry by the Special Marriage Act 1954, then find some denominational Christian priest who can perform wedding outside the church. Check on web and you will find one.

That is a sin; I know I’m late to this feed and if you are married, I hope God bless your marriage, but marrying outside the church is a sin. Stay close to Jesus he is alive and well, learn the history of your church question what has been given to you and answer those questions and you’ll see the truth. Once you look at history most of these non-denominational churches are clearly false. Stick with the teachings of Saint peter, who taught us the sacraments and created the holy church which was split into two by evildoers. Also marriage is hard enough I have heard many intereligious couple say that they wish they never got married, not because they don’t love their partner but because of marriage is hard enough and this further complicates things. teach him about Jesus and if he doesn’t want to convert, tell him you can’t marry. However if you do choose to Mary please teach your kids about Jesus and be a saint in front of your kids.

Hi I am a Syrian Orthodox Christian from kerala. Iam in love with a hindu boy for the past 8 years. We would like to get married according to both customs. One of my friend got married like that from a roman catholic church. But is that allowed in syrian orthodox churches??

    Angel,
Thanks for reaching out to us. There are many factors to consider, so lets handle one at a time. First, your church will not accept the “Hindu” but will want him to convert. Why you have to marry in Jacobite church only? Can you consider other church who is open minded?

Do you not have any problem getting married by the Hindu vivaha? Are your parents okay with it?

Best is to first get married by the Special Marriage Act 1954 and later marry how many ways, including Jain and Jewish; as far as no one wants you to convert.

    Lets talk more.
