Dear Amit,
I am happy to hear that you are planning on getting married to a girl you love. Both you and her are not that young, so you both need to act fast and not delay for stupid reasons.
You need to decide where you are going to live after marriage, Malaysia or India. The big question is which society you want your children to grow up and belong to.
You have said that you plan to live in India. Therefore, the only reason for you converting to Islam is to get married in Malaysia, a country that you will not be living in. There is no point in you converting to Islam for that reason alone.
Also, as you will be living in India, your children and your wife will be living among and interacting with your relatives and friends. So there is no point in you changing your religion just for the wedding day.
Instead, I will recommend that you get married in India and have some unofficial ceremony or event in Malaysia to commemorate this.
This must mean that any children that you have will grow up among your Hindu family and relatives in which case it is beter for them to be nominally Hindu.
It is difficult to understand everything that you have written, but you may be wanting to keep the door open for your children to migrate to Malaysia. You should check if there is some provision for them to migrate there based on the fact that their mother is Malaysian.
There is always the problem of nationality and usually you have to pick one or the other. This is a seperate issue from the issue of religion, though related.
You and your wife need to look at the legal aspects and what the implications are and what sacrifices you need to make to get the best for you, your wife and your children.
It is not clear but I think you have said that your wife already has a child. You need to look at the visa implications but it will probably be better for your wife and her child to keep their Malaysian nationality. I dont know the Indian laws but it should be possible for them to live in India if she is married to you. But you need to find out the legal facts and issues and this forum may not be the best place.
I wish you happiness and a good future with your wife, her child and any other children that you may have.

Peaceful religion…??? NO WAY…
Fact: in the 1400 year history of islam, muslims have murdered over 270 million people.
Fact: Since 911, muslims have committed over 23 thousand deadly terror attacks around the world.
Fact: Islam can not and will not peacefully co exist with any other religion on earth. Never.
Fact: Where are all those so called “peaceful” muslims when the terror attacks occur? Why do they not stand publicly against the attacks as a religious group? The reason….. is in the verses below… It goes against their koran.
Muslim (20:4645) – “…He (the Messenger of Allah) did that and said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa’id) said: What is that act? He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah!”
Muslim (20:4696) – “the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: ‘One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihid died the death of a hypocrite.’”
Muslim (19:4321-4323) – Three separate hadith in which Muhammad shrugs over the news that innocent children were killed in a raid by his men against unbelievers. His response: “They are of them (meaning the enemy).”
Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, “Kill any Jew who falls under your power.” Ashraf was a poet, killed by Muhammad’s men because he insulted Islam. Here, Muhammad widens the scope of his orders to kill. An innocent Jewish businessman was then slain by his Muslim partner, merely for being non-Muslim.
Tabari 9:69 “Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us” The words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.
Ibn Ishaq: 327 – “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”
Ibn Ishaq: 990 – Lest anyone think that cutting off someone’s head while screaming ‘Allah Akbar!’ is a modern custom, here is an account of that very practice under Muhammad, who seems to approve.
Ibn Ishaq: 992 – “Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah.” Muhammad’s instructions to his men prior to a military raid.
The Quran:
Quran (2:191-193) – “And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]… but if desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.”
There is a good case to be made that the textual context of this particular passage is defensive war, even if the historical context was not. However, there are also two worrisome pieces to this verse. The first is that the killing of others is authorized in the event of “persecution” (a qualification that is ambiguous at best). The second is that fighting may persist until “religion is for Allah.” The example set by Muhammad is not reassuring.
Quran (2:244) – “Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things.”
Quran (2:216) – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.” Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding caravans with this verse.

Quran (3:56) – “As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.”
Quran (3:151) – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”. This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be ‘joining companions to Allah’).
Quran (4:74) – “Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.” The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, led meekly to the slaughter. These Muslims are killed in battle, as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah. Here is the theological basis for today’s suicide bombers.
Quran (4:76) – “Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…”
Quran (4:89) – “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”
Quran (4:95) – “Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-” This passage criticizes “peaceful” Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah’s eyes. It also demolishes the modern myth that “Jihad” doesn’t mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption. (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man’s protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).
Quran (4:104) – “And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain…” Is pursuing an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?
Quran (5:33) – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”
Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.
Quran (8:15) – “O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey’s end.”
Quran (8:39) – “And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah” From the historical context we know that the “persecution” spoken of here was simply the refusal by the Meccans to allow Muhammad to enter their city and perform the Haj. Other Muslims were able to travel there, just not as an armed group, since Muhammad declared war on Mecca prior to his eviction. The Meccans were also acting in defense of their religion, since it was Muhammad’s intention to destroy their idols and establish Islam by force (which he later did). Hence the critical part of this verse is to fight until “religion is only for Allah.” According to Ibn Ishaq (324), Muhammad justified the violence further by explaining that “Allah must have no rivals.”
Quran (8:57) – “If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember.”
Quran (8:59-60) – “And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah’s Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape. Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy.”
Quran (8:65) – “O Prophet, exhort the believers to fight…”
Quran (9:5) – “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them.” According to this verse, the best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam. Prayer (salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religions Five Pillars.
Quran (9:14) – “Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace…”
Quran (9:20) – “Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way are of much greater worth in Allah’s sight. These are they who are triumphant.” The “striving” spoken of here is Jihad.
Quran (9:29) – “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” “People of the Book” refers to Christians and Jews. This was one of the final “revelations” from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad’s companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in just the next 100 years. Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.
Quran (9:30) – “And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!”
Quran (9:38-39) – “O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place.” This is a warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell.
Quran (9:41) – “Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew.” See also the verse that follows (9:42) – “If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them” This contradicts the myth that Muslims are to fight only in self-defense, since the wording implies that battle will be waged a long distance from home (in another country and on Christian soil, in this case, according to the historians).
Quran (9:73) – “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.” Dehumanizing those who reject Islam, by reminding Muslims that they are merely firewood for Hell, makes it easier to justify slaughter. It also explains why today’s devout Muslims have little regard for those outside the faith.
Quran (9:88) – “But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper.”
Quran (9:111) – “Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.”
Quran (9:123) – “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.”
Quran (18:65-81) – This parable lays the theological groundwork for honor killings, in which a family member is murdered because they brought shame to the family, either through apostasy or perceived moral indiscretion. The story, which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source, tells of Moses encountering a man with “special knowledge” who does things which don’t seem to make sense on the surface, but are then justified according to later explanation. One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason (74). However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would “grieve” his parents by “disobedience and ingratitude.” He was killed so that Allah could provide them a ‘better’ son.
Quran (21:44) – “We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?”
Quran (25:52) – “Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness…” “Strive against” is Jihad – obviously not in the personal context. It’s also significant to point out that this is a Meccan verse.
Quran (33:60-62) – “If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while. Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter.” This passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered “merciless” and “horrible murder” in other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who refuse to “fight in the way of Allah” (3:167) and hence don’t act as Muslims should), those with “diseased hearts” (which include Jews and Christians 5:51-52), and “alarmists” or “agitators who include those who merely speak out against Islam, according to Muhammad’s biographers. It is worth noting that the victims are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today’s terrorists do. If this passage is meant merely to apply to the city of Medina, then it is unclear why it is included in Allah’s eternal word to Muslim generations.
Quran (47:3-4) – “Those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the truth from their lord. Thus does Allah set forth form men their lessons by similtudes. Therefore when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners,” Those who reject Allah are to be subdued in battle. The verse goes on to say the only reason Allah doesn’t do the dirty work himself is in order to to test the faithfulness of Muslims. Those who kill pass the test. “But if it had been Allah’s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.”
Quran (47:35) – “Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (Shakir: “have the upper hand”) for Allah is with you,” This very important verse asserts that the Religion of Peace is not to grant peace to the broader society until Islamic rule has been established.
Quran (48:17) – “There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom.” Contemporary apologists sometimes claim that Jihad means ‘spiritual struggle.’ Is so, then why are the blind, lame and sick exempted?
Quran (48:29) – “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves” Islam is not about treating everyone equally. There are two very distinct standards that are applied based on religious status.
Quran (61:4) – “Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way” Religion of Peace, indeed! This is followed by (61:9): “He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even though the infidels may resist.”
Quran (61:10-12) – “O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity.” This verse was given in battle. It uses the Arabic word, Jihad.
Quran (66:9) – “O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey’s end.” The root word of “Jihad” is used again here. The context is clearly holy war, and the scope of violence is broadened to include “hypocrites” – those who call themselves Muslims but do not act as such.

“Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain”
Verse 9:111 means what it means. It is Jihad suicide. A Muslim who dies while trying to murder kafirs fulfilling teachings 9:5, 9:29 and all the other teachings of murder, rape, terror, torture of kafirs in the Quran ARE GUARANTEED MARTYRDOM AND ACCESSION TO AN EVIL, LEWD, DEPRAVED PARADISE FILLED WITH ETERNAL VIRGINS OF EXQUISITE BEAUTY WHO REGENERATE AS VIRGINS AFTER EACH SEX ACT AND WHOM THESE KILLERS AND MURDERERS OF ISLAM CAN SEXUALLY MOLEST IN ENDLESS COPULATION FOR PERPETUAL ENJOYMENT FOR ALL ETERNITY.
Allah takes away from Muslims all rights and ownership of their life. Muslims will engage Allah’s stratagems of wars without any questions asked, and kill and get killed.
This is the only mode of actions that will earn them Paradise. Allah is the peerless master of incitement of violence and bloodbath.
You cannot ascend to Paradise by climbing on the corpses of the murdered.
Verse 9:111 is the teaching that has been used by Muhammad and his lieutenants to mobilize the suicide bombers, the beheaders, the jihadists to kill and slaughter millions. This inhuman teaching has inspired the slaughter of an estimated 270,000,000 kafirs, over the last 1400 years, by Muslims in their aim to fulfill the teaching of Quran 9:111 for gaining a place in his whorehouse Paradise. Promising those who kill in the name of God, whose hands are coated with blood – the Islamic Paradise of sexual depravity – virgins who re-generate as virgins after each sex act – created by God for the sole purpose of servicing the righteous Muslim killers and murderers of God who are blessed with eternal erections and are permitted by God to engage in all forms of orgies, group sex, and sexual depravity is an affront to all rationality and reason.
“As for the righteous (Muslims)… We (Allah) shall wed them to beautiful virgins with lustrous eyes” [Quran 44:51-54]
The righteous (Muslims) they shall triumph… Theirs shall be voluptuous women.” [Quran 78:31-33].
Other verses in the Quran—such as 37:40-48, 44:51-55, 52:17-20, 55:56-58, 70-77, 56:7-40, 78:31 and http://www.islamreform.net/new-page-192.htm describe the Paradise to be an alluring whorehouse. This Paradise coated in blood is the greatest evil ever and all those who preach these hideous teachings and those who act on them are going to join Muhammad in hell and damnation.

My name is Maryam Noor, that is my Islamic name, and my original name is Margaret Templeton.
I was born in Scotland to a house which was atheist. In our house, we were not allowed ever to speak about God, and even if we learned something in school, we were not allowed to say anything or we would be punished.
For as long as I can remember, I have been seeking the Truth about why I am here in this world, what I’m here for, what am I supposed to do.
As soon as I became old enough, I began to search for some information about this “person called God”, that people mention, and all through my life, I have been seeking the Truth, not a particular religion. The Truth, something which made sense to me, something which opened my heart and which made my life worthwhile. I have been practically in every church in the kingdom, both here and at home, it never occurred to me to think about Islam.
I became interested in Islam, but the war took place in Iraq, and I read the terrible things which were being said in the papers about Muslims, but I was well educated about other religions to know that these things were not true, that lies were being told, and so I went seeking for a teacher who could teach me something about the Islamic way of life, so that I would be able to refute these things that were being said about Muslims which were wrong, which were lies, and which came from shaytan, or Satan as I called him then.
One of the things that I do is that I talk to everyone. I used to smile to everyone and say “Hello”, “How are you”, and “What’s your day like” .. as Jesus spread happiness whenever he was. At that time I was a Roman Catholic but I was very unhappy and I left the Church, and I didn’t know where to go.
At the same time, I was seeking for a teacher in Islam, I was praying constantly all day to God “Help … Help … Help me … Help me ..” over and over and over all day for almost two years, because I did not know what to do or where to go.
A friend of a friend of a friend brought me the name of an alim – a scholar. His name was Nur El-Din, and he was an Arab born in this country. He invited me to come to his house, which I did, and he told me what books to buy, and that I could call him if I had questions. And that was our relationship. There were seven volumes of this book, it was a commentary on the Qur’an, and it was excellent.
So I started to study. I opened the first book, I read the acknowledgement. I did not start from the back, I started from the front, and I was immediately in Al-Baqarah. And before Al-Baqarah, there was Al-Fatihah, and I read Al-Fatihah, and it was like I was struck by lightning, tears flowed from my eyes, tears like Niagara Falls. My heart beat very quickly, … I was sweating, I was shaking, … I was afraid this was shaytan, like he was trying to stop me because I might find the way, because this book might get me the way to Truth, which is what I was seeking.
I phoned the alim, he said come I want to see you. So I went to him in the depth of winter, and I arrived there like a block of ice, but a little suffering is nothing for Allaah as I found. And I explained my experience to my alim. I said this is shaytan, what should I do? One of the things which took place during these tears was I saw my heart, I could see my heart out here, red, very large, rather bright, not shaped like it at all. I was rather frightened, and I said what do you think I should do?
And he said to me “Margaret”, “you are going to become a Muslim”.
And I said “But I am not reading these books in order to become a Muslim.I am reading them in order to be able to refute the lies that are being told about the Muslim people.I don’t want to become a Muslim”.
And he said “Well Margaret, you are going to become a Muslim, because I must tell you, there has been divine intervention in your life.” I was 65 years old. I am now 66. I have been a Muslim for one year.
I went on studying with the alim, from about November to February, and I could not wait any longer to do my shahada, and I asked him do you think it is too soon for me to come, because I really don’t want to become a Muslim, but I’m sure I will learn and God will forgive me that I had not appreciated this great gift that He gave me. I was not hateful of appreciating it, I was too small, too much a sinner, to appreciate this great gift that He gave me.
He said “Noor, come on the 11th. of February 2003, and he sat a bit far from me …, he was dressed in white from head to toe, and he said “Repeat after me” and he said the shahada which I repeated after him.”
Then I said “What did I say?” and he told me in English what I said, and I said “Then I’m a Muslim” and he said “Yes and your name is Maryam”.
I can’t say that I’m a good Muslim as it is extremely difficult. I lost all my catholic friends, all the friends that I talked with. My daughter thinks that I’m crazy! My son is the only one who believes that I may have found the Truth and he is the only one at the moment who may become a Muslim.
The second thing which makes my life very difficult is that I live in a secular world and not in a Muslim world and I want with all my heart to live in a Muslim world and to have a Muslim community. I’m the only Muslim in the area where I live. But Allaah has been very good to me because amid all these difficulties, I’m happy, I’m studying.
I read everything in English because of my age, as I can’t remember the recitation so I use a book. And I ask Allaah “Please remember Allaah, the most Merciful and most Compassionate, that I’m really only a baby, but I’m a 65 years old baby and I have little difficulties and You must help me” and this is one of the ways He is helping me.

Kaaba is as holy as Krishna’s murti and Jesus’ cross. Alternatively ALL are idols. One of three is holy for you; counter is true true for the others. Let us repeat, for non-Muslims, the Kaaba is nothing more than a black cube. If you are willing to respect Krishna murti and Jesus cross, yes, you could expect others to respect your kaaba. Another thought… can you ask her to visit India and get married by the Special Marriage Act 1954. This way no one has to convert. After marriage, you could register for her permanent residency in India as your wife (check for procedure) and adapt her child too. Later, she could always visit Malaysia based on her passport. In case later you decide to settle in Malaysia, at that time you will have to convert and remarry her there.
“You convert in India and later visit Malaysia” is a bad idea. As soon as you convert, you will have to get a new Muslim name, change your passport and driving license. In case, you own a property, you will have to change your ownership title with a new name. Further, you may loose your rights as a Hindu joint family inheritance rights (if any). After that, when you apply for Malaysia visit, you have to declare that your intention to visit there is to marry your lover. If for any reason, you don’t get a visa to visit there or the girl side change their mind (lets hope not), then you are stuck being a Muslim and without a girl. Later, even a Hindu girl will never marry you. This will be a total mess, keep off.

Honesty is the best policy. Trying to cheat others will cost you a lot in your life. Get married in India without fake-conversion. In registration, don’t change her name. Later, you could always visit Malaysia as a tourist. She will still have the same name in her Malaysian passport and she could always go there to visit.

Go ask your local imam if while shahadah conversion do they give you a new Muslim name or not for Nikahnama? How girls family will trust you that you are a Muslim? About you are talking like a Hindu but now you have to think like a Muslim. You cannot associate Allah name with Shiva, punishment could be death for apostasy. Kaaba cube is holy but Shiv Ling is idol, go figure it out! Now you have to think that there is only one God and that is Muslims only. The God can be prayed only in the direction of Saudi Arabia at specified 5 times a day. Further, all Christians, Jews and Sikhs will go to hell but only Muslim will enter to heaven. If you are not sure what we are talking about, read Koran and think how it makes sense for you.

We see this as a MAJOR problem, “my girlfriend want 1st m convert in muslim”. What after conversion, if you don’t get visa, or Malaysian authority stop you or girl’s family change their mind that you are short/dark etc? Never do that. Tell her that you will convert just before the Nikaah, it takes only 5 min to convert, be smart. If you take a foolish step, people in India will laugh at you. You could never reverse back to Hinduism, punishment is death. Further, no Hindu girl will EVER marry you. Think!

However the society, the pandits/imams and government will make mess out of beautiful love. Don’t ignore laws but carefully think to find solutions within given laws. Laws in India are more liberal than in Malaysia for Hindu-Muslim marriage. Best wishes.

If you believe in the concept of one God from heart and believe in Islamic values then do convert even if you do not want to marry. And if you are converting, there is no issue at all, you will be accepted by your girlfriend’s family as they will consider you one among them. For me , I am too naive to understand the concept of god (whether there is only one or many gods)so I do not personally believe in god from worldly point of view. But just remember that being a practicing Muslims you are not allowed to consider any other form of god baring Allah.
I do not underhand why there is so much hypocrisy about interfaith marriage in Islam doesn’t make a difference whether the non-Muslim marrying to a muslim is man or women they are expected to convert before marrige to muslim. And I do consider those conversion sin as the reason in those conversions is not religion based but marriage bases and both the muslim partner and his/her non-muslim spouse (knowing that it is conversion for convenience) are doing wrong according to the core concept of Islam. As Quran says “let there be no compulsion on religion” and “a muslim shall always marry another muslim”, then why did Allah at first place made muslims to fall in love with non-muslims, does he want to test their loyalty faith (just to check if the muslim will marry a non-muslim knowing that the non-muslim partner does not actully believe in Islam but is still converting because of social pressure) or the fanatics have played a wrong no. card (to borrow it from pk movie) to not to let muslims to convert to other religions.
Whatever it is, I truly believe in the power of love irrespective of religion, my funda is simple, if u love someone get married and have guts to marry n to continue the relation without asking for a change of religion from your partner. I mean how silly is it! you love a person from XYZ religion n then you ask him to convert to ur religion for marriage as u believe in your religion. If you r so true to your religion then u should not at first place have fallen in love with the person from another religion. asking a person to convert to a particular religion for getting married is certainly not a thing that your god would like as the conversion is not by heart (both the partners are wrong in that case ).
